At the wedding fair Heart to Heart in Lübeck, we took with us, as already mentioned, some brochures of possible locations.
Already on arrival we were somewhat disappointed by the sight of the forest hotel, because the building looks quite old and inconspicuous. A few meters away there is a large sports field and otherwise the surroundings are rather murformer …
The inside then surprised us, however. The guest room is divided into a smaller, slightly more old-fashioned part and into a large, bright, modern hall. There is also a kind of kitchenette, presumably for buffets and a parquet area that invites you to dance.
We got a table in the smaller part of the guest room and were served very kindly. After reviewing the rather extensive, rather regional map, we opted for a poultry fricassee with a maracuja juice and a boar goulash with dumplings, cream and cranberries as well as a Spezi. First, we were given a small bread basket with a kind of remoulade as a starter.
The food came very quickly and it tasted really good. However, my portion of Frikassee was far too big for me. : shock: Luckily, the rest was bagged to me. 🙂 Unfortunately Ronnie had one or the other tough pieces of meat with him, but he was satisfied anyway. The prices were quite reasonable for the portion size. For the two dishes and drinks, we paid just under €37th.
As the name "Waldhotel" suggests, there is not only a restaurant, but also a hotel and a café.
The restaurant is easily wheelchair accessible. The old toilets in the small guest room are not wheelchair suitable. However, the new ones in the large guest room are very spacious and could be used with help.
